1. Booking & Reservations

1.1. How do I make a reservation, and is payment required upfront?

Online Reservations Preferred. Reservations can be made online or by phone, with full payment required at the time of booking to secure your site.

1.2. What is the cancellation policy, and are there any fees?

Reservations can be fully refunded if canceled 14 days or more before the scheduled arrival date. Cancellations within 14 days are subject to a $35 cancellation fee.

1.3. Can I choose my specific campsite when booking?

Some sites are available for specific booking by map. However, availability is not guaranteed and may be subject to change without notice. The campground may move you to another site within the same category with similar amenities.

1.4. Are there any discounts available for long-term stays or large groups?

Weekly stays receive a 10% discount, and stays of 14 days or more receive a 15% discount. These should be automatically applied, but if not, please contact us via email.

1.5. What should I do if I need to change my reservation dates?

Please contact the campground as soon as possible if you need to adjust your reservation. Changes are subject to availability and may incur additional fees.

1.6. Is there a minimum stay requirement?

There is no minimum stay requirement at Golden Riverfront Campground.

2. Campground Amenities

2.1. What types of campsites are available?

The campground offers walk-in tent sites, drive-in sites (both back-in and pull-through), RV sites with hookups (including 50 AMP and 30 AMP options), and glamping options like yurts and cabins. A 2-bedroom suite is available on the second floor of the washhouse, ideal for families.

2.2. Are washrooms / restrooms and showers available, and how are they maintained?

Yes, washrooms and showers are available and regularly cleaned. The washhouse includes men’s and women’s facilities with 4 showers on each side, as well as a family washroom that can be used by suite/cabin renters and as overflow for the main facilities. Seasonal toilets are also available near the washhouse. Our shower facilities are FREE OF CHARGE (no coin needed) to campground customers. 

2.3. Is there Wi-Fi available at the campground?

A Wi-Fi hotspot is available beside the event pavilion, and most sites have 5G/LTE coverage.

2.4. What recreational activities are offered at the campground?

The campground offers a playground, beach volleyball, and free gaming gear/equipment rental. Other amenities include a paragliding landing facility, an event pavilion available for rent, hiking and biking trails, an on-site swimming/kayak pond, and river access (seasonally dependent).

2.5. Is there a swimming pool or other water features?

There is an on-site swimming/kayak pond, but access may be seasonal, and availability can vary.

2.6. Are pets allowed, and what are the rules?

Pets are welcome at our campground. They must be leashed and supervised at all times. An off-leash area is available to the west of the Tent Village.

2.7. What dining options are available on-site or nearby?

Our camp store offers snacks and basic groceries. Additional dining options include nearby restaurants or food trucks in the town of Golden, about a 10-minute drive away.

2.8. Are campfires allowed, and is firewood available?

Campfires are allowed in designated fire pits. Extra-large firewood bundles can be purchased at the office for $15.00 per bundle, delivered to your site. 

Fire bans may apply during dry seasons—no exceptions.

2.9. What is the event pavilion, and how can I rent it?

The event pavilion is available for rent for group gatherings, weddings, and other events. Please refer to our website or contact the office for more details.

2.10. What short-term amenities are available?

The campground offers cabins, yurts, travel trailers, and a 2-bedroom suite for short-term stays. Cabins are equipped with lofts, wood stoves, and kitchenettes; yurts have queen-sized camping beds and optional wood stoves; travel trailers are staged at full-service sites; and the 2-bedroom suite includes a kitchen, living room, dining area, and private balcony.

2.11. What amenities are available in the tent area (West Wing)?

The West Wing offers a warm house for eating or shelter, 3 dry toilets, and a tap water source near the walk-in trail entrance (beside site 3).

2.12. Is there a group camping area or amenities?

Group camping sites are available. Please email or call for details, locations, and pictures of the sites. The event pavilion can also be rented for group events.

2.13. What is Muller Flight Park?

Located beside the main entrance, Muller Flight Park is a landing field for paragliding and cross-country aircraft. Campground guests are welcome to participate in guided paragliding activities.

2.14. Can I rent bikes or kayaks at the campground?

Yes, both regular mountain bikes and e-bikes are available for rent, as well as kayaks and SUPs (to be used in the on-site swimming pond). Check with the office for details and pricing.

2.15. What are “Local Days,” and what do they offer?

Local Days are community events featuring local vendors, food trucks, games, and activities like a mini petting zoo, face painting, and more. Check the website homepage for details.

3. Site Conditions & Maintenance

3.1. How are the campsites maintained?

Campsites are maintained regularly, with annual upkeep at the beginning of the season. Grass is mowed weekly, and weeds are managed as needed.

3.2. What should I do if there is an issue with my campsite?

Contact the campground office immediately if you encounter issues such as uncleanliness or malfunctioning utilities. 

3.3. Is the campground safe during severe weather?

The campground has safety protocols for severe weather, including designated shelter areas. Stay informed by monitoring weather conditions and following staff instructions.

3.4. How is noise managed at the campground?

Quiet hours are enforced from 11 PM to 7 AM. Please respect your neighbors and report any disturbances to the office.

3.5. Are the roads and pathways within the campground suitable for large RVs?

The roads and pathways are suitable for large RVs, and extra-large sites are available for big rigs.

3.6. What wildlife might I encounter at the campground?

Depending on the season and weather conditions, you may encounter various wildlife. The campground posts updates on recent wildlife activity on the homepage and Facebook page.

3.7. Is the water drinkable? What is the water pressure like at each site?

Tap water is generally drinkable unless otherwise notified. Water pressure can fluctuate, so RV owners are advised to use a water pressure regulator to prevent leaks due to high tap water pressure.

4. Accessibility & Convenience

4.1. Is the campground accessible for guests with disabilities?

Some facilities are accessible, but the campground is not fully accessible. Please contact the office for specific needs.

4.2. How far is the campground from the nearest town or grocery store?

The campground is about a 10-minute drive from the town of Golden, accessible via Highway 95 North.

4.3. Are there laundry facilities available at the campground?

Yes, there are two washers and two dryers available for use. Each cycle costs $3, and coins can be obtained from the office.

4.4. Are there any rules regarding additional vehicles, trailers, or tents?

The base rate includes two vehicles, two adults, and two children per site. Additional adults or vehicles incur a $10 daily fee, with a maximum of 4 adults and 2 additional vehicles per site. The additional tent policy allows for 1 extra tent per site.

4.5. Are there any discounts for local attractions?

Discounted tickets are available for Golden Skybridge and other local attractions. Check with the office for details.

4.6. Is Wi-Fi available, and what is the cell phone coverage like?

Wi-Fi is available at the event pavilion, and most areas of the campground are covered by 5G/LTE networks from major Canadian carriers.

4.7. Does the campground have a dump station?

Yes, the dump station is located beside the washhouse.

4.8. Can I charge my EV at the campground?**

The site pedestals are primarily for RVs and trailers, and are not designed for EV charging. However, some sites with larger electrical capacity may be able to handle Level 2 charging.

We are currently working with BC Hydro to install a public EV charging station. Please check with the office for the most up-to-date information on EV charging options.

4.9. How does the campground manage mosquito control?

Aug 2024 Update: Due to the extreme weather conditions, the 2024 mosquito situation is bad in the Columbia–Shuswap Regional District (CSRD), and the campground is actively taking additional procedures to control mosquitos.

The campground actively collaborates with local authorities to control mosquito populations, including regular aerial spraying and on-site measures such as mosquito lamps and chemical treatments. Guests are encouraged to bring mosquito repellent for additional protection.

4.10. What is the current wildfire situation, and how does it affect the campground?

Aug 2024 Update: The area got significant rainfalls in mid-August weeks. We are no longer on evacuation alert! 

For the latest information on wildfires and their impact on the campground, please refer to our homepage. We post regular updates on smoke conditions, air quality, and any evacuation alerts.

5. Rules & Policies

5.1. What are the quiet hours at the campground?

Quiet hours are strictly enforced from 11 PM to 7 AM. Please respect your neighbors and report any disturbances to the office.

5.2. What is the speed limit within the campground?

The speed limit on campground roads is 15 km/h. Please drive carefully to ensure the safety of all guests.

5.3. What is the garbage and recycling policy?

Garbage should be disposed of in the black bins, and recyclables in the blue-lidded bins located throughout the campground. A large garbage bin is available next to the washhouse for bulk disposal.

5.4. Can I collect firewood from around the campground?

Collecting deadwood is not allowed as they need to be properly dried. Firewood is available for purchase at the office for $15 per bundle, delivered.

5.5. Are pets allowed off-leash, and where?

Pets are allowed off-leash in the designated area at the west end of the campground. They must be supervised at all times, and any aggressive behavior will not be tolerated.

5.6. Can children use the on-site swimming pond?

Children must be supervised by parents or guardians at all times while using the on-site swimming pond. The use of the pond is at your own risk.

5.7. Are there specific rules for group bookings?

A facility fee and damage deposit are due at the time of booking. Individual sites within the group booking must be paid in full when reserved. No refunds are provided for weather-related issues or early departure.

5.8. What are the rules regarding alcohol, smoking, and campfires?

Alcohol and smoking are permitted on your registered site but are prohibited in public areas. Fireworks are only permitted at designated areas, please check with the office. Fires must not exceed 24 inches in height and are only allowed in designated firefits .

5.9. How should guests handle encounters with wildlife, particularly bears?

Keep food, cosmetics, and anything that might attract wildlife securely stored. Report any wildlife sightings to the office immediately. Bear-proof garbage bins are provided throughout the campground.

5.10. What is the campground’s refund policy for inclement weather or other conditions?

Refunds are not provided for inclement weather, wildlife activity, road conditions, or personal circumstances like illness. Refunds will only be given in cases of mandatory evacuation.
